Our third grade explorers on a voyage to find their riches. The treasure hunt groups were stopped along the way and bartered or traded goods. On top of finding their goods, they had to overcome obstacles such as a sick mate, who had to be carried or one who hurt their leg and had to hop on their other foot to the next destination. The students had so much fun wrapping up the unit on early explorers!

Mrs. Muncy's and Miss Ellingsworth's third graders spent the day outside learning for Outdoor Classroom Day. Third graders created a map of the community while walking around town looking for landmarks and names of roads. Using a lot of teamwork and cooperation, students also played a polygon game with first graders that involved forming shapes. Students described an object in their view and their partner had to draw a picture based on the description given. Students ended the day by drawing a map of the Early Explorers they have been learning about. Each group then presented the route their explorer took. It was such a fun day!
