25 Years Later: Remembering 9/11

Today, as we pause to remember and reflect on the events of September 11, 2001, we are reminded of the importance of preserving the stories and memories of that day. Some of our current students are the children of students who were here at Copenhagen Central when 9/11 happened. 

Twenty-five years later, a piece of that history involving Copenhagen Central School District is being revisited. Mrs. Spooner, who has been a dedicated member of the CCS family for nearly three-decades, was recently featured in the Watertown Daily Times in connection with a 9/11 time capsule.

We are proud to see Mrs. Spooner and our school community represented in this meaningful story. Her connection to the time capsule is a reminder that history is not only found in textbooks. It lives in the memories and experiences of the people who were there. 

Today, we remember those we lost, honor the heroes and first responders, and reflect on the lasting impact of September 11.
