The Copenhagen School District seeks comments from parents, students, teachers, community members, and other stakeholders concerning the District’s Smart Schools Investment Plan. The Board of Education will conduct a hearing to receive community input at its regular meeting scheduled for 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Copenhagen School in the Guidance Office.
\r\n\r\nIn November, 2015, voters across New York State approved the Smart Schools Bond Act proposed by the Governor and adopted by the Legislature. The purpose of this initiative is to provide our students, teachers, and community with the digital tools needed to support learning in the 21st Century.
\r\nThe Copenhagen School District was allocated $625,435 from the proceeds of the Smart Schools Bond Act. In Phase 1 of the project allocation, the District invested $243,887.40 in classroom technology. The District has prepared a Preliminary Smart Schools Investment Plan for Phase 2 of the allocation to describe how these funds will be used to support education. The purpose of the hearing on December 14, 2022 is to receive community comment on the Phase 2 Preliminary Investment Plan before a final Plan is submitted to the State Education Department for approval.
Any written comments on the Plan should be sent to Adam Zehr, Information Technology Director, at azehr@ccsknights.org, or to Adam Zehr, Copenhagen CSD, PO Box 30, Copenhagen, NY 13626.
Respectfully submitted,
Lukas Sullivan
School District Clerk
