Several classes participated in the Global Outdoor Classroom Day! Outdoor Classroom Day is a global movement to make time outdoors part of every child’s day. On two days of action each year, teachers take children outdoors to play and learn. All year round, the Outdoor Classroom Day community campaigns for more time outdoors every day. 5th Graders started their day by hanging red, white, and blue lights on the bandstand for the The Copenhagen CARES Collaborative. We received a tour at Hopenhagen, where the owner talked about lavender, hops, bees, apple trees and gardening! Our afternoon was spent reading to first graders and getting the school garden ready for planting
Second graders started their afternoon with a picnic lunch at the Copenhagen Village Park. After lunch, we were treated to a read aloud by former Librarian, Mrs. Fazio. To go along with the read aloud, students also made a craft.
