Congratulations to all our art students who participated in sending work to the Scholastic Art Competition in Syracuse. Every year we send the best work from our students and eagerly await to see what the judges will choose to be in the show. This year we are excited to receive 2 gold key awards, 1 silver key award, and 11 honorable mention awards. The winning pieces will go on display at Onondaga Community College January 15th until Feb. 28th. The show is housed in the Whitney ATC which is currently under construction, but is open with the following hours: Monday - Friday 9am -7pm and on the weekends 9am to 6pm. The show is an incredible display of a variety of work including drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, fashion, ceramics, and 2D and 3D Designs. Our 2 Gold Key winning pieces will also go on to compete in New York City at the National Competition. The work that didn’t get into the show is now on display at Copenhagen and is well worth a trip to see. As I say every year, I am super excited for our winners because it just goes to show that there were some professional people in our area who deemed your work worthy of recognition and all of these students should be very proud.
