The Copenhagen School District seeks comments from parents, students, teachers, community members, and other stakeholders concerning the District’s Smart Schools Investment Plan. The Board of Education will conduct a hearing to receive community input at its regular meeting scheduled for 6:30pm on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Copenhagen School.
In November, 2015, voters across New York State approved the Smart Schools Bond Act proposed by the Governor and adopted by the Legislature. The purpose of this initiative is to provide our students, teachers, and community with the digital tools needed to support learning in the 21st Century.
The Copenhagen School District has been allocated $625,435 from the proceeds of the Smart Schools Bond Act, and has prepared a Preliminary Smart Schools Investment Plan to describe how these funds will be used to support education. The purpose of the hearing on February 17, 2017 is to receive community comment on the Preliminary Investment Plan before a final Plan is submitted to the State Education Department for approval.
